1. Brake linings and brake shoes
Drum brake linings (often called brake leather) and brake shoes wear with every stop. Worn linings increase stopping distance and can damage the drum. Parts such as the front brake leather 3554-00082 should be checked at every service and replaced as an axle set, not one side only.
2. Brake camshafts, bushings and rollers
The S-cam brake camshaft opens the brake shoes. Worn camshafts and bushings cause uneven braking and poor brake adjustment. If you are replacing shoes, check the rear brake camshaft YT-3557-00260, the bushings and the shoe rollers at the same time.
3. Air brake valves
Yutong coaches use air brakes, so air valves are critical safety parts. A sticking or leaking relay valve YT-3527-00042 can cause slow brake release or air loss. Listen for air leaks and check brake response during daily walk-round checks.
4. Air suspension height valves
The height valve 3523-00010 (levelling valve) controls the air suspension ride height. A faulty valve can leave the coach sitting low or leaning to one side, which affects ride comfort and tyre wear.
5. Wheel hubs, nuts, bolts and oil seals
Wheel-end parts carry the full weight of the coach. Damaged studs and nuts, worn bearings or leaking hub seals must be fixed straight away. Common replacements include the rear wheel hub YT-3401-00557, the front wheel nut 3103-00394 and matching wheel bolts and oil seals.

How to read Yutong part numbers
Yutong parts are identified by a part number such as 3554-00082 or YT-3557-00260. The first group of digits usually points to the system the part belongs to (for example brakes or axles), and the second group identifies the exact part. Similar-looking parts can differ between models, axles and production years. The safest way to get the right part is to quote:
- The part number from the old part or the parts book
- The bus model (for example YT6122)
- The VIN / chassis number and year
- A photo of the old part, if the number is worn off
